Why Bridgerton 3 is the best season yet

Psych-she writer, Charlotte, thinks that Bridgerton 3 might be the best season yet, and since we are only half way through a 2 part release, here’s what she thinks are the top 5 moments so far!

  1. Anthony doting over his ‘beautiful wife’

Last series it took Anthony the whole 8 episodes to realise his feelings for Kate Sharma, but this time around he has been more than affectionate as the newlyweds now watch back as the new season is underway with society’s singletons looking for love.

In one instance he interrupts his mother and Kate to have a moment alone with her, but I know that’s not the part that’s burned into my mind, or yours either.

The intimacy scenes between the pair are steamy, loving and irresistible to watch as they elongate their honeymoon period just to stay together longer out of the world that holds expectations and responsibilities of their titles. They really are the perfect pair.

  1. Colin interrupts dance between penelope and Lord Debling

After Penelope finally puts her flirting skills, taught by her (thought to be) unrequited love interest from Colin, he then starts acting uncomfortable at the idea of the pair being a potential future wedded match. When Colin interrupts the dancing, leading to the end of the potential relationship, the audience sees the cracks in Colin’s facade for the first time and his true feelings emerging to the surface, finally. It was a delight to watch this scene then lead to him confessing his love for her, after the last 2 series have led to this moment of vulnerability. I can safely say I wouldn’t mind a confession of love so graciously in a horse drawn carriage.

  1. Lady Bridgerton flirting with Lord Marcus

Within the last episode mainly, the mother of the Bridgerton group was having a charming flirt with a man. Such a satisfying moment after seeing her only role so far making sure her children fall in love, and we know her love hasn’t gone from her late husband, but to see her happy, blushing even, was a gorgeous watch. More of that, please.

  1. Francesca sitting in silence with Earl of Kilmartin

Francesca, the sixth Bridgerton baby, has come to her time to be matched with a perfect pair as Daphne and Anthony have done so successfully in the past. She prefers not to be in the limelight, and that follows her magnetic connection to a fellow reserved soul and they enjoy one another’s company, even when quiet. It captured hearts as they don’t do the talking, just let the blossoming love speak for itself.

  1. Penelope’s terrible flirting with fan

Penelope Featherington, the wallflower of the series so far has no luck and when Colin, her best friend, vows to find her a husband, she loses her cool, talks utter codswallop and then finally hits herself in the face with her fan, an item that women use at the height of their elegance and femininity. It made me giggle, and I feel I relate more to this, well, definitely more than most scenes of love and grand gestures, especially losing her cool in public, something I in fact need assistance from Colin with too!

The psychology of queer awakenings

When I realised I like women as well as men it was like someone switched the lights on. But what actually happens in our brain during a queer awakening? Saturday night is movie night at my family home. Every week we’d argue over the film to watch. I wanted to watch...
